Pamphlet proposing the establishment of the Drucilla Whitmire Memorial Museum in Newberry County (South Carolina). Proposes that the historic "Ante-Bellum Trading Post and Stage Shop" should become a museum of local history for Whitmire (S.C.), and also house a lending library, "There is no public library in the town and such an institution would fill a real need." Includes list of trustees and committees advocating for the project. Prior to the migration to Missouri in 1820, Henry Whitmire (1776-1836), Ruth Hill Whitmire (1785-1843), and their daughter Drucilla Whitmire (1816-1904) lived in Newberry County (S.C.). Drucilla Whitmire married Randolph Walker Apperson (1809-1900) and was the mother of philanthropist Phoebe Apperson Hearst (1842-1919) and the grandmother of publisher William Randolph Hearst.
